January’s done. Can you believe it?
Sunday Surveys started as a small experiment, but after four weeks of asking, polling, and listening — we’re starting to see the bigger picture. This community is evolving, and we’re evolving with it.
Your insights are actively shaping Home/Abroad (formerly Girls’ Guide to Living Abroad), and we’re beyond excited about where this is heading. Because this isn’t just a rebrand — it’s a shift toward better resources, richer stories, and a true community that supports every version of global life. 🌍✨
So, what did January teach us?
As we wrapped up the first month of Sunday Surveys, one thing stood out: you’re here for the real, human side of global living. Not just the how-tos and logistics, but the friendships, challenges, and defining moments that make life abroad (or the dream of it) so unique.
When we asked what kind of content you wanted more of, the message was loud and clear: real connections and deeper, personal narratives.
Not just logistics or travel inspiration, but the authentic experiences — the highs, the struggles, and the unexpected moments that shape a global life.
And the best part? You backed that up in the comments and replies, sharing exactly what you’d love to see more of:
✨ Stories from real people, navigating real challenges abroad.
✨ A better way to connect with others on a similar path.
✨ Less clickbait, more authenticity — both the highs and the messy bits.
We hear you. And we’re already cooking up ideas to make this space exactly what you want it to be.
What We’re Taking Away from This Week’s Poll
Quality over quantity. The number of responses wasn’t huge, but the message was clear: connection and storytelling matter most. That’s where we’ll focus moving forward.
It’s about conversation, not just questions. We’re shifting our approach to make these surveys more interactive, with room for discussion, shared experiences, and real talk.
Your feedback is shaping what’s next. This past month, you’ve helped us define what Home/Abroad should be — a space for real connections, untold stories, and honest conversations about global living.
What’s Next: The Future of Home/Abroad 🚀
We’re not just gathering insights for fun — changes are coming.
💬 More community-driven content: Expect new ways to connect, share, and learn from each other.
📖 More real life stories: The good, the bad, and the hilarious mishaps.
🔦 More visibility for you: We want your experiences to be part of this platform.
We love where this is going—and it’s because of you. 💛
PSA: The Next Sunday Survey Drops Soon!
We’re cooking up a question that’ll get everyone talking. Keep your eyes peeled — it’s one you won’t want to scroll past.
Until then, thank you for being part of this community. Home/Abroad is growing, and we’re so excited to build it with you.
And stay with us — because February? It’s going to be even better. 💫

Hey guys, just so everyone knows, Mitra's going to be handling the next few blogs. My mom passed away suddenly and I'm in Mexico.
I'm beyond touched by all the support and new subscriptions we've gotten over the last month. I set a target to reach 300 followers by January 31st, and today, we're at 323!
The rebrand and the new direction are still all in progress. I'm taking things one step at a time, but I'm clearer than ever that this is the right path for us. Thank you for your patience, and I'm excited to have you all with us as we
expand and develop our community of people living abroad and those who wish to.
